Switch has gone?Ford 8340 engages 4wd when you hit the brakes but not when you press switch, any pointers where to start?
Power to the switch I think so could it be a wire to solenoid ?Switch has gone?
Fuse?
Relay?

If pedals are locked and pressing them engages 4wd everything would be right there then?Hey, check the switch is closing by doing a continuity check across the pins. Another option is to check that both of the brake pedal switches are working and are adjusted because I think it'll knock 4wd out if your using independents? Try that and see how you get on?

Yes I understand what you meanNot if one switch was naff or mis adjusted and it thinks one pedal is down all the time? I may be wrong but I think it would have to have both pedals down for 4 wheel braking but both up for 4wd? Does that make sense? The 4wd switch would be my first check but it's easy enough to check brake light switches too. Just check that they're clicking as the pedals are pressed.
