Question for the boffins, were any of these tractors 40k?
i know some powershift models were 40k

Shouldent post when im tired ! I posted wrong, changing the diff wont work, especially on a 4wd as the drive for the 4wd comes off the bottom of the box changing the diff would ruin the ratios between the front and rear axle . You need tho change the gear set in the gearbox, off a tractor that was fitted with 34" rear wheels, couldent tell you exactly which gears and which tractor you need donor parts off as i have not done one myself.
Its like one of those urban myths, everyone has heard about it but no one knows the exact details.

Found this little gem on a customers farm a few days ago. Had a turbo fitted and they reckon she’s doing 125hp. Sounds pretty!

You can just put a gearbox out of a 7610 etc into a 79/8210 and that will make it 40k, from what I know you just swap the whole gearbox

I have an old power farming mag somewhere, it had a test feature on the 8210. I remember they commented that the 8210 they had on test was a 40kph version of the tractor (i think it was on test somewhere on the continent possibly Germany) but at the time it was not known whether the uk would get the 40kph version, or whether ford would stick with the 30kph box.

As the lads said no 30 series dual power was 40 k. Only the late Dana axle twin steer ram , powershift where 40k.

Love how the ozzies fitted decent tyres to tractors years before we did, duals too
