Definitely keep em coming! Whats the 4wd at the back of the baling gang? 8100? TW10?
TW 20. Being in a mainly arable area we had the first round baler round here. This soon led to more work than one could handle. When baling silage came in the FH504C was swapped for a Farmhand 800HD. Everybody had had enough of trying to make small bale hay so we soon had to have a MF1450 (which was a 800HD painted red)and then a MF1455. These would bale silage(we were baling it much wetter in those days) but could be a pain in the ar*e in some conditions. As soon as John Deere brought out the 550 we swapped the three for 2 JD 550's. These 2 easily did what 3 had been doing.

Round about 1984/85 a bloke called Lloyd Forster (I think) in Northumberland came up with bale wrapping (everybody was well pi55ed off with pulling thousands of bags on bales by then). We couldn't get one so we decided to knock one up in the workshop.

Here she is in post production trials(y) Mostly made from scrap -wheels off old David Brown baler, chassis off aYstamatic spreader, hydraulic motor etc.IIRC parts cost £1300 plus time for 2 of us for about a week.

Here she is, fresh out of the paint shop.

Proper job! can't think of too many industries that would be making their own machinery like that.

What are the brackets for on one of the ford bonnets? some sort of markers?

They are 1970's version of Autotrac!! :D:D.On top of the bracket was an adjustable pointer with a white dot painted on the end.Once set at the correct angle (for either 30' or 40' bouts - 'cos that's the only 2 bout widths we needed then) if the driver kept the white spot following the last wheeling, the bout width was correct. The white dot was on the end of a pointer so the driver knew he was sitting in exactly the right(critical for the system to be accurate). If he was slightly in the wrong place in the seat he could see the blue paint of the pointer and knew to adjust. See pics below.
You didn't need a satellite and a box full of electronics to make this work :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:.
