Buy it, you know you want toI'd rather buy this for £8750.
I've known it for the last 4 years. Might be handy as a spare spare?
In the in let pipe connection? And check the plastic gauze in the inlet end of the inj pump..
Could I put an airline on that pipe with the elbow and blow back. thanks for your help.Any muck in the system tends to lodge in the elbow before the sediment bowl.
Does the plunger on the lift pump suck in at full revs?
Take the metal fuel pipe off the bottom of main tank and see how fast fuel runs out (messy)
Is the air hole in the filler cap blocked?
Just a few to get you started.
Definitely ,Could I put an airline on that pipe with the elbow and blow back. thanks for your help.
Thanks. Is it likely to be clogged? Obviously it shouldn't be as after sediment bowl and filter? Don't want to delve into pump and risk contamination unnecessarily. Also what is large plug in bottom of fuel pump- a drain? Is there oil inside that needs changing?Maybe too late now but don't pressurise the whole system with an airline. You'll blow the seal on the primer and it will need replaced after. The filter is in the end of the inj pump. Fuel inlet pipe off,24mm spanner and remove big nut, heavy spring and small top hat shaped thingy. Filter sits around the delivery valve body which you do not want to remove as the innards will fall out or become dislodged. Filter looks like this...
and needs picked out with a hook on the end of a piece of fine wire.
Most helpful thanks.Usually when its clogged, the engine will have no power or won't rev out or go at all. It does become dirty and is the last chance filter before fuel goes through the pump. It's not hard to take out and check if you're very careful and if the valve does come out, providing you don't drop anything, the worst you may have to do is to remove the end of the pump and reassemble everything with a drop of grease to keep it all together. Another thing sometimes worth doing is to add a couple of litres of ATF(some will argue 2 stroke oil is better) top the diesel and if something is sticking in the pump, it will free it. It really does work There is no oil in that pump so that plug is not an oil drain.
@Joe S !Anybody like to hazard a guess of ballpark value of my 7740 sle please. 2 owners, 9000 hours. Fronts 20% good rears 70%. White roof. Everything works, done a lot of hours at tick over flailing but still pulls well on other work. Can't be many about this nice. Photo won't upload.
