Aye Joe but if you'd bought that just think of all the Gallic flair you'd have missed out on ;)
I expect the cup holder on the 7740 only holds a cup. Unlike yours which holds a bottle of Chablis :ROFLMAO:
Reckon You could nearly get a bottle of chablis in the drinks cooler on mine(y)

Currently have an l reg 5640 SL white top 2wd to try from a dealer. Seems in very good nick for her age, what should I be looking out for?

So far, having given it a good run, the hour clock doesn't work (but I know it's a local tractor, from a good home, and it doesn't feel like it's done high hours for its age- clock showing 5k)

I've also found using the button on the shuttle brings up an error- is this a common fault or something to walk away from?

Anything else I should be looking out for?

Didn't know sl's had a shuttle button?
Anyhoo....just check EVERYTHING works really. Check PTO stops as well as starts etc....
For my money I'd buy this from Gwili......7740, 2wd 3000 hrs, SLE......

Can vouch for that 7740 at Gwilli- been with our neighbour from new, on a spotless farm, and won't have been worked hard at all. She really is a cracker. Is in very nice condition, but they want £11,000 for it (which isn't ridiculous given the tractor), but is out of my budget, and quite a bit more than the asking for the one I'm looking at unfortunately. For the amount of work I'll have I'm struggling to justify the spends...

(Although having seen a two dogs- a 5610 and a 390; go for £7k+ in a farm sale yesterday near Carmarthen, the one I've tried looks very reasonable)
