Did ford not have the self same problem of the oil pump not self priming if left awhile between start ups on Ford 8n tractors?

Now thinking about this if pumps won’t prime if left for more than a few mins between draining and refilling with oil

how do they prime wen been replaced and engine in bits?

or on initial build in the engine factory?

And why hasn’t anyone taken ford to court over The whole failing pump fiasco?

known issue and a recall in the transit but not with the ranger fitted with the same engine? How are they getting away with it?

Not just the transit. The same engine is in a number of other makes of car and they've all had a recall. I haven't looked into if for 12 months but sure it was in one of the land rover models and in a Renault.

In factory I think they pressurise the engine to force oil into the pump.

Don’t buy one they are a heap of sh!t, can categorically tell you that, we’ve had two cease engines and ford don’t care, can’t even tell you how much I hate them 2016 and 2017 cars both dead. Gearboxes aren’t serviceable so they have a limited life. Don’t even bother considering these glorified builders sheds.

Independent garage just changed the pump. + 17 litres of oil to prime the pump and left overnight before draining down to full level.
I assumed this meant they overfill the engine and let it sit overnight

Its surely not much more than the undertray, the propshaft, the subframe with diff and axle shafts and the sump at worse. It's a pig of a job unless you have a proper lift and are a mechanic, otherwise its just another job for the day. It could be much worse and yet another LR Disco/Range Rover body-off job and a V6 engine to strip down.
Body off isn't that bad actually, we've done a few at home now and can be off and working on the engine in a few hours! A Vouge on the other hand is a nightmare to strip down as you can't take the body off.

These rangers can't be that bad? I've been searching for a wildtrak for a couple of weeks now that needs repairing but can't find one.

Had nothing but issues with a new transit as well, will never touch anything with a Ford badge again.

Toyota are building vehicles in partnership with French companies now, which is a crying shame because their own vehicles have always been bulletproof for us.

Just as a heads up perhaps to those with similar aged LR 90 2.2's and Ranger 2.2's - Brightwell's have 3 ex council pickups with ~80k or so currently for auction.

2 if not all 3 have got low oil pressure / noisy engine issues!

I have a 2013 Ford ranger with 2.2 litre engine, just coming up to 4 year old and has done 58000 miles. The ranger is serviced by Ford garage.
This week the engine stopped while driving and after rolling onto grass verge I tried to start it again but was dead.
Had it recovered to Ford garage, where I have been told that the engine has seized up. Ford say the oil pump failed and then the turbo and then the engine seized.
This all happened with no warning lights and quickly as it was driving fine and then just stopped.
Any one else had similar problems?
I did have and it repeated again a month after i have installed a new engine and ford groblesdal are saying warranty does not cover it cause they auspect due to the colour of fuel ; is the main cause. Hai i am confused cause the engine its new.

Get your fuel tested by an independent engineer or fuel company and present McGee Ford with the evidence if it confirms fuel to be OK. Sounds like the dealer trying to cover up a faulty install or engine if it has seized up again catastrophically. Dodgy fuel should only impair the fuel system not cause an engine to seize up with bearing failures.
