Am looking at buying a ranger 2.2 limited to replace our ageing disco, so what i want to know is does it pull 3.5t? I have seen some sites saying it can only pull 2 and you need the 3.2l to pull 3.5t. We are needing it to pull a tri axle stock trailer with four cows in it. Will it be man enough?

Get the 3.2 wildtrack, you can never have enough power or money .

Right having just bought a 3.2 myself I've looked into this and as far as I can establish its like this

The new shape 2.2 and 3.2 Ranger launched 2011/12 could tow 3350kg. Then some time in mid 2013 they were upgraded to 3500kg.

The upgrade wasn't just a replating exercise, ford made some chassis and welding modifications on the production line. The only way to tell which were which at change over is to check chassis numbers at a well switched on dealer.
