Commentary by Sir Cholmondley Warner- Smyth.:woot::LOL:

Makes you think doesn’t it? 400 acres with 5(?) furrows and a 5000 in 7 days. Without going back and watching it again what did they do with the 7710 and 6 furrows? I think that was only 6 days though. I think we are all over tractored.....
Ps not many lights on the 5000 for an all nighter

Reckon I should have got one of those with the new 7610 I bought in 1989, but as I was young and naïve back then along with the fact it was the last new tractor Bushell's of York ever sold, my guess is it most likely ended up in the salesman's own display cabinate..:(

Also when you have ploughed a field round and round like that how do you start in the middle and end up with a furrow on the outside?
Next year you set a rig in the furrow where you finished in the middle this year, IYSWIM.
You then plough clockwise, round and round it.
EDIT this probably explains it better......
https://issuu.com/amberlady/docs/good_ploughing_hi-q Page 8.

EDIT, EDIT this is a more modern version of the above book.....

..when you bought a new Ransome plough in the 1970's it came in the packet with the instruction book.

Googling, it has come dark outside so I'm having a brew before going back out to make yard pikey-proof.
They were round the neighbours last night. :(
:banghead::banghead::banghead: Gates chained shut here at dusk. Much consternation from delivery drivers who turn up just before 5, but tough shite.
Leccy gates, when I win the lottery.......

I've had my eye on that. I want a hedgecutter. I want a classic Ford...... and all for £4.5k.
Convinced myself it was a scam at that price........
Says....
Ford 6700 Turbo Tractor, 1978 year. 2 wheel drive.

Genuine factory made turbo engine model not a after-market conversion

6700 turbo.jpg
.....that turbo filter (if that's what it is - tried enlarging it but it just goes blurry) looks like a retro-fit to me.
.......we had 6700's and 7700's, back in the day, they had the same block and looked the same but, IIRC, the big ends and pistons were different.
If it was a genuine factory made turbo engine model, as it says in the advert, it would be a 7700.
Just sayin'

Never seen a 6700 with the second dieseltank under the steps, but looks like a clean machine
Have a couple of 6700's here.. One has the optional auxiliary fuel tank, the other hasn't.

6700 shared the same 4.2 litre naturally asperated engine as the 6600, while the 7700 had the same 4 cyl 4.2 litre turbo engine as the 7600. The turbo engines had as you say different pistons and big end shells. They also had drilled conrods allowing oil pressure feed to small end bushes, and a shallower angle on inlet / exhaust valves and seats. 7700's also had a different exhaust manifold to a 7600 with longer port branches giving more space for turbo and pipework fitment..
