Ford tractor advice

The Ford 30 series LP cab is probably the worst cab I've suffered. There are much better loader tractors out there. If you want a 3 cylinder Ford, buy a 4610, they're twice the tractor.

I checked the loader over looked in pretty good shape (unlike the cab), the hydraulics all round seem to be strong, there was some dirt and oil on the manifold for the loader pipes but couldn’t tell if it was a leak or oil had come out a connector at some point and not been cleaned off. I’m not sure wether it’s been used hard unfortunately. There is a leak from the power steering pump case was told it’s because there is an o ring that needs changing, would this be accurate?
The most I need it to do is unload some bulk bags of type 1 from a trailer and any equipment I buy as got stuck with a haybob on the trailer the other week and it took me 3 hours to get it off with an engine crane
I solved the unloading trailer issue by buying a rear mounted forklift for £70. Its been the handiest, most versatile and cheapest bit of kit.

True but not a lot of choice in highlands. Haulage is the killer.
Haulage is cheap compared to the pain of sitting, or should it be lying down in that cab. The seat is too low, the clutch and brake pedals are too high and work at stupid angles, the foot throttle is in the wrong place, as is the diff lock pedal and the heat inside the cab in summer is unreal for such a small tractor.

@Nearly @Boohoo i honestly can’t comment on the inside of it as my dad took for a test drive, he said it was a bit cramped and the foot throttle was in an odd place but not terrible.

I’ve been looking on and off for a year for a small-ish or even not so small loader tractor but up here they seem hard to get I’ve spoken to dealer and asked around and when something does come up it’s either really expensive, dissolving from the sea air or the cost of getting it here is ridiculous.

I was wondering if it was just me who thought that, And I only sat in one for a few minutes, and got straight out. Horrible driving position.

Was glad to see the 5030 that I used to drive go down the road. It was replaced by a safety cab 4600 which is nicer to drive, although a bit noisy.
Sekura made some great cabs, I don't know what went wrong with the 30 series LP cab. Maybe Ford let the work experience boy design it.

I wasn’t sure if that was the right cab as looks more like ones I’ve seen in pictures of the 4610
You're right. Now that I've looked at the pictures properly that's a 10 series LP cab. The 30 series LP cab frame is black and the side windows don't open. I wonder if it's been on it's lid or if the original cab rotted away. Either way it's a mongrel

It more than likely dissolved up here with the sea air, anything that’s metal that’s not really well painted rots in no time.
When I was trying to find out what cab it was I noticed the parts for that one are cheaper but is the fact it’s got that cab on it a good thing or bad thing?

It would be a bad thing for me and I wouldn't buy it. Only you can assess how well it's been put on and whether it's worth the risk of something going wrong and the insurance walking away from you or getting on the wrong side of HSE because the cab isn't approved for that model. It certainly devalues the tractor significantly.

I don’t suppose there is any way to look up if it is approved for that or not is there?
