Thanks for that, it seems totally stupid that ford left the 540 gear off the 35.

You need to put the pto pack out of a 15 in to achieve 540.

Put an adapter on and run it slower.

That doesnt work. Ok for a hay turner , but not for a baler or fert spreader.
    Or mower.
A thinking driver will manage a hay turner, a non thinker will wreck it.

I used to use a tw30 on a small square baler without problems when other tractors were busy.

I tried to bale this yr with a 1000 pto and i just kept stalling it.

Another alternative would be an external 1000 to 540 clip on box? But you probably already covered that, and as the power goes up everything gets bigger.

You may change the gear set if you really want 540. Wouldn't be a massive job either

Did that 20 year ago with a County on a Claas baler, lasted a season & burnt the pto pack out, replaced the gears after that with 540 ones.

I thought I had an update to post 3 weeks ago, had her driving perfect. But it earthed itself though the ecu and fried it . So that's gone to dk electronics, hopefully will have it going next week. Down to finer details then .
