How about this one!!
An old major was for sale locally we bought it and found out it was a friend's uncles tractor and our friend used to drive it when he was a boy
The very same friend had a work mate who's parents had passed away and the mate had to get rid of a lot of gear from their smallholding My friend told me about it and we went and had a look at the gear which included an old major with a tree growing thro it, anyway we bought the major and when we finally got it home we rubbed down the number plate and the number was UNG168 and the other Major that was our friends Uncle's was UNG 167 What are the odds of that happening? Anyone else done it?

This is not tractor related but I had a 73 Capri which had the number plate AIW150, my second car, first was a mini, which I wrapped round a tree one night. I went to replace the car and the first one I saw was AIW149, another Capri which I bought and put through a bridge. I was young and stupid and wrecked a number of cars.
If a dealership sells two new vehicles, goes to register them at the same time the numbers probably will be consective, the trick is finding the same two vehicles 50 odd years later.
