Written by William Kellett from Agriland ForFarmers continues to expand its offering to robotic dairy herds with the appointment of Laurence Loxam as UK robotics commercial manager. With extensive experience in the robotics sector, Loxam will use his knowledge and experience to develop a more specialised offering to ForFarmers customers, according to the company. “With 10% of GB dairy herds now milking via AMS, it’s crucial that we are able to offer our customers in this sector a more specialised offering,” explained Loxam. “Understanding how you move from a feeding a cow who visits a traditional parlour twice a day, to feeding a cow visiting a robot five times a day is vital. “Getting this right means you’re far more likely to see a good return on investment.” [HEADING=1]‘Having clear systems in place’[/HEADING] In addition to this, Loxam believes that protocols also help to ensure success. “Having clear systems in place is important for all businesses,” notes Laurence. “But with a robotic system the attention to detail is magnified. The focus really needs to be hour by hour, and day by day to get things right and to maximise success.” The role of robotics on farm will only continue to grow said Loxam. He previously worked as genera manager for Lely Midlands where he specialised in both the sale of robots and in maximising robotic performance. “I’m excited to bring 25 years of experience in sales, management, and leadership to this new role. I’ve also spent 12 years outside of agriculture in retail, which taught me a huge amount about how the world ticks. “However, the agricultural industry is my passion and for me it brings as sense of achievement like no other.” The post ForFarmers appoints new UK robotics commercial manager appeared first on Agriland.co.uk.
