I'm getting muddled now. We had a horse drawn combine in a shed which I never saw working. I think we had a BM Volvo (yellow?) after that. Dad always called it the Bamford. I think. Maybe got my memories mixed.

I think we had a NH after that. A recall helping our mechanic (John P) fix it and sticking my elbow in the air inlet whilst running. That was interesting.

Spent bum numbing hours as a kid wuffling the hay. Did we really have summers back then? cos my memory says we did.:)

We had a Nicholsons "Robin Hood" wuffler not that long ago, used turn about with a Vicon (I think) walking stick hay turner.

Turn it damp side up onto dry ground then wuffle it up. Theory was alright but without good weather they were all useless.

The haybob replaced them both but doesn't really turn the swath over but can move it across a bit and just about do what the wuffler did although it tends to lump it.

It's easier but not necessarily better.

The turner, with its two castor wheels and one fixed wheel could get into a right old mess in a corner. The wuffler didn't like rig and furrow.

We Had Allis Chalmers 300 baler which was a rebadged Jones. Much better made than the tinny New Hollands of the time and the bales were perfect but compared with The Class we had it was slow.
Another name long gone "Bamlett" . l seem to remember their equipment was painted purple and white!

I think you'll find you had a Jones Super Star baler rebadged as a AC 300! :)
