Found it!

Some of you may remember years ago I posted a couple of pictures and asked for help finding out where they were. One was of my Aunt and Uncle and I eventually found the farm, and another was a village scene.

We had no luck finding out where it was, but just yesterday I found it, looking for something else.
Its Biddestone, in Wiltshire.

Google Earth wont give me the exact view, but the pond and the pub are still there.

There, you can rest easy now. I know it has been worrying you!

I remember too but weren't you thinking it was in Devon? Funny how some things just niggle away in your brain until you find the answer. Was the answer somewhere in your house all along?

Well remembered @jellybean - it was with some other photos of Devon.
It was strange how I found out - out of the blue Youtube suggested a video of two Wiltshire villages, and there it was! I had not been looking at anything to do with Wiltshire....
It was about the time we moved to Wiltshire, to a village about 10 miles away, so maybe my father looked at a house here. I will never know.
