France get £62.7 million

I thought to claim asylum you needed a genuine fear of persecution in the country you had left, otherwise you are just an illegal immigrant and should be deported back from whence you came

You could easily put in an asylum claim, knowing it will fail, then appeal just to drag it out.

All these migrants crossing the channel have come from France, which is a perfectly safe country. So safe in fact that thousands of people from the UK go there on holiday each year.

They should either be sent back to France or given some sort of place in our society that is mutually beneficial.

We need to be looking at why they are so desperate to be leaving France and coming to the UK.

Indeed, but eventually a failed asylum claim should lead to deportation.........wether it does or not is another matter

This useless government is now only forcibly deporting around 3,500 a year compared to almost 14,000 a year a decade ago. And since the UK public refuses to have a mandatory ID card there is no way of knowing who is illegally in the country once they are in. :banghead:

France has just granted citizenship to 12 000+ non-French "front line" health workers, cleaners, supermarket cashiers etc "They were there when we needed help. They got us through this. We welcome them into our Nation"

You don't remember this. The Conservatives promised to scrap the scheme if they were voted into power in 2010, which they duly did,. Because in their eyes it was apparently an invasion of our civil liberties and as we now realise much of the third world's as well. :banghead:

@Muck Spreader @le bon paysan @Ashtree if you’re so happy in France/Eire why don’t you just get on with your lives and enjoy it where you are rather than spend as much time as you do being angry on TFF?! Constant vitriol, it’s really strange to be so angry

A quick browse back and I see you have a problem with à aussi voicing about the uk too🤔.
It does just seem that you are a tad sensitive... “me thinks the man does protest too much “😂

I don’t have a problem at all! I just find it strange that someone would spend so many of their waking hours getting mad about others affairs
