France recalls ambassadors from Australia and USA - blatant discrimination!

Of course France is upset over losing their arms deal with Australia, they are normally the ones striking deals and shafting their friends. I remember how they used to be with aircraft, be part of an International project whilst selling their mirages behind the backs of their partners.
I'm at a loss as to why France couldn't see this coming, the project was going way over time and budget, Australia was going to end up with a conventionally powered submarine that costed more than a nuclear one.

I wonder if France will argue for an EU trade embargo against them...

I think we can all guess what the response to that from their EU 'partners' will be.*

So maybe they'll just go it alone and stop selling to Oz and the US, that'll learn 'em! :ROFLMAO:

*Hands up who thinks it will be 'solidarity'...

This just gets better and better, have been reading some of the French media sites, a couple are being jingoistic ans supporting Mr Macron, all of the others are either rather luke-warm or outright condemnatory of it.

Joking aside, of course France is p!ssed off about this and we can't blame them, who wouldn't be? It shouldn't come as a surprise bearing in mind the facts, but they are understandably p!ssed off.

But... withdrawing ambassadors is way over the top, and is the international diplomatic equivalent of not just throwing teddy out of the pram, but of sending him into near orbit.

If, for instance, the UK had acted like this in similar circumstances, it would be rightly condemned as being childish and petulant, in fact making a fool of itself on the international stage.

Is there anyone who is going to put their hand up and support / condone France's actions in this? 😐

It’s reported (allegedly) that the French were pre warmed about this earlier but nevertheless this looks like political posturing in part. French presidential elections coming soon. Hmmm
