Fraser trailer rebuild

Hi all, Only just joined tff. Thought I would post photos of a 15t fraser I rebuilt.

Body was nearly completely rotted off but a few hours with 9” grinder I had this

I was lucky to fall in with some 2nd hand 4x2 channel so was able to put good heavy chimes in instead of the folded 3mm fraser used

Next got chassis and chimes shot blasted while I got sides folded, all started to come together pretty quickly

Tidy job there, Your workshop there doesn’t look like a normal farm workshop, do you do a bit of fabrication work?

That’s my fathers workshop away from farm. Took trailer there to use mig welder for sides etc

Next was to get some paint on. Never realised how much you can spend on paint when painting something as big

Took trailer back down the road to farm to paint the 2k outside

I had more steel folded for the silage sides but found a set of the later type for sale complete with a back door. So I will use what I have to rebuild the wee 10x6 Fraser we have

Have you got tinted windows on the tractor, never seen that in the uk before

What type of paint is that on the chassis

It’s a hempel 2 pack acrylic paint. All the fishing boats are painted with it.

Top job on the trailer. Looks good as when new

Why does the trailer all need repaintin? From the photo just looks like the silage sides need painted. A set of 560 wheels would set it of
