Not sure I would gain the benefit by adding a 3/4" coupler to this scenario - as the bore of the face plate fitting will be the restricted part here, as it will be around 8mm I would assume from a 13 - 14mm OD threaded connector screwed into the port.

Only way to make this viable imho, would be to remove the plate, drill the current hole bigger and fit a coupling that would allow for 3/4" fittings - so I assume that is what you are referring too here?
I assumed you were fitting the return to the larger filler cap. The main reason is that the coupler is the point of most restriction. While it might be overkill for this application, it is the proper setup. Some day you might want to power a hydraulic motor, and they don’t like back pressure! Also male coupler on the tractor return seems to be the industry standard. Easier to keep clean, and can’t be hooked up wrong.
