Struggling to get my samples in the bag, have I collected too much, don't want a burst on route or things could get messy
Yes, the gripseals should be at most half full. If you're worried about them bursting please could you double bag them with a freezer bag or something similar.

I did the same in the end, was dreading the lady in the post office asking what was in my parcel and what value it had

I think there needs to be some sort of interpretation of the results sent out rather than just a figure which on its own means nothing. With all bulk milk sample tests for fluke (antibody response) there has been a corresponding risk interpretation attached. Liver fluke is a big egg layer so single figure egg counts should/could mean low risk and no need to jump for the drugs or is your test different? Is yours s floatation test? If so, the result is magnified if I am correct, but by what and what is low, medium and high risk?

I agree Keith, there should be some indication as to what the results mean, otherwise it is meaninglessness. I got mine and rang the vet as I was a bit worried but unfortunately we were both in a rush so will have to catch them again to discus what I do, would normally dose the sheep again pre lambing anyway but I guess it dose show they need doing. Some of the cattle arnt looking as bright as they should so I now know why, dosed them earlier than usual in the autumn so I guess missed some immature ones and there causing the problem. I did four batches so paid for the extra two.

The results for the fluke test are as follows (number of eggs in 10g faeces):

Sheep 1 - 98 liver fluke eggs and 2 rumen fluke eggs, these were dosed two months ago and are lambing now
Sheep 2 - 7 rumen fluke eggs, these were dosed a month ago due to lamb mid April
Cow 1 - 8 liver fluke eggs and 36 rumen fluke eggs, these are cows and were dosed a month after housing and are calving now
Cow 2 - 38 liver fluke eggs and 49 rumen fluke eggs these are last years calves and again were dosed a month after housing

So are these really bad, most of the stock is in really good nick but some of the cattle are a bit scoured hence testing and the odd sheep has a dull fleece.

What did you drench the sheep with?
