Not interested in soccer at all, but... it seems stating the truth now requires 'investigation'... :banghead: Of course, revealing information that could have serious adverse consequences for the country should be a crime. But, how on Earth have we arrived at a situation in which stating the truth about what Saudi Arabia>

It's just another branch on the same tree which gave us JK Rowling being slapped down for the appalling crime of stating that women shouldn't be referred to as 'people who menstruate'.

The liberal-left have a lot to answer for. I wonder if any have pondered - even for a moment - the fact that those they hate most (people on the right) are now the defenders of free speech and expression. I guess not since they can't be wrong and only people they agree with should have rights...

I am in agreement - it is to be hoped that the police ‘investigation’ is merely a backside covering device. The banner surely qualifies as valid political comment.

I came to the conclusion some time ago, that as a white, middle aged male it was safer to keep my mouth shut on quite a variety of topics....

The extreme left 'Wokes' are, these days, regularly contradicting themselves, hopefully it will all implode soon. I liked the comment recently from an outspoken US politician recently, 'This will make them hyperventilate on their yoga mats, but.....'
I do wonder how comedians will make a living soon, of course it will gave to be all against us straight white old codgers as apparently it's not offensive to take the pee out of us.

You can see the banner on line

There is nothing inaccurate on it but the cartoon depiction of an Arab may me considered "racist"

If the banner warrants a prosecution, then so do most football chants ("We hate Nottingham Forest....." "the referee's a wan***" etc)

On a similar theme, I note that local (to me) Rugby Club Exeter Chiefs have told fans to stop wearing American Indian style headdress. Presumably Plymouth Argyle Mascot Pilgrim Pete is also facing the sack as he is not on a religious pilgrimage, Exeter City aka "the Grecians" are clearly racist Wasps RUFC will have to be renamed as the current name is "insectist" several teams known as "the Saints" will require Papal approval and Fulham FC are in serious trouble with the LGBTQ community.

I'm on a rugby forum and the abuse going on about the head dresses is unbelievable, its hilarious that it's the open minded tolerant onesxthat are the most intolerant of any one who disagrees with them.

Red Nose Day will have to be banned, because it will obviously be offensive to those folk who are unfortunate enough to have red noses through no fault of their own.

And depiction of witches during Halloween or at any time, is extremely disrespectful to those poor women in the recent past were classed as witches and murdered simply because they suffered from hallucinations etc after working with ergot-contaminated grain.
