Err we are still in the single market yet it’s just fine for countries to unilaterally close off borders to skiing. I’d agree with that but how does it square with the “single market”? Suppose skiing resorts are not fishing grounds.

The Swiss opened the lifts. The French did not. The problem comes in the Trois Vallees, where you go to the top of the mountain and choose which country you end up in , then catch the bus back to your resort or a lift back to the mountaintop.
