French built 35

Looked at this today. It's a non runner. But turns over. It has cranked lift arms and steering rods and axle drag links have cranks in them . I suppose to get it to very narrow track. . Tin work is excellent Wants 2300 for it . At worst what would engine cost to do as it's a nice straight tractor

It will be one job getting it started and then might find a bottomless pit of other jobs that need doing once its running ,clutch might be gone, brakes ,gear box problems, hydraulics ,,be best to get it fired up first before you part with your pennies

Was it running before being parked up ?

How long has it been parked up ?

Diesel at injectors ?

Tinwork does look good. But agree with Lincs lass, would be nice to get her running to see what steering, brakes, hydraulics are like.

What about the Ford 4000 in the background ;)

Very unlikely there would be anything wrong with the hydraulics
Brakes are very simple
Ok could need a clutch but that's not a big deal
Whatever it takes its well worth fixing, very good engine, I expect it is only a fuel problem that is preventing it from starting

I would like to hear it running at that money, no matter how bad it ran.
Depends how bad things are when you strip it, or are you going to get someone into do it?
I'd put 1500 aside if you intend keeping clean, just for a bare rebuild.

The French had what could only be described as they way of doing things, I had a French build IHC engine, it looked like just the same, but everything was just a different when coming to a rebuild liners, big ends gaskets etc, so never again would i buy a french tractor or engine

That would be sensible ........... (y)
Even if its only to let the seller see the effort required to get it up and running.
And if it doesn't do what you think it should, your only out the bit of time trying to start it.
But try and get the seller to do it for you, if you can ...........

Engine looks to be a standard Perkins, and, as they used the standard 4.107 in the also french built 130, I see no reason the think this unit will differ in any way from the engine fitted in an english built 35. Its also probably the cheapest thing on the market to rebuild, rebuild kits are around £180.00, and pattern short engines about £750. Its unusual, if you think the price wont kill you, buy it. If you change your mind, and decide it is too much, I think you would find many MF fans interested in taking it off your hands.
