French farmers had a day of action this week against environmental changes in the SFP. They targeted ministry buildings across the country and released crows and white mice in them, as well as dumping slugs, snails, nettles and thistles. Their objection was particularly against the growing band of environmental fundamentalists who are starting overrule the professional ecologists on these matters.

I think it was to make them easier to see.

From my post about EU elections:
"....gangs of people intimidate the individual, calling themselves corporations, political parties, or (I'll live to regret this) religion, or just a 'social group' or 'community'. Apart from lack of hunger, these things and many more inhibit the daring and confidence that is needed to improve oneself and hence one's country."
For the avoidance of doubt, 'environmentalists' are definitely included!
