It definatley is tightening especially good crossbred cattle. Someone just been quoted 1780 for incalf swedish procross. Seems German Fleckvieh are a bit more available but perhaps not as highly regarded?
Anyone else heard that Holland is sending lots of cattle away to Czech republic for rearing. Was suggested to me that they might even go almost flying herd as a country due to Phosphate regs.

Interesting. Have to hand it to the Dutch.
Danish farmers when I was there in June were worried about too many heifers on the market around Christmas due to sexed depressing the price but them pesky Ruskies (& Albanians) are still buying

I really like Dutch cattle. Many top notch switched on dairy farmers/herds to choose from and would by far be my number 1 destination for buying.
I for one will be disappointed if supplies dry up.

Quite humbling to go on to a number of farms and be spoken to in English and without the need for an interpreter

I’ve always avoided Dutch due to johnes,my French heifers have done well,currently buying out of a robot herd with too many due to sexed semen,I hope he keeps using it.

flying herd now.
Definitely sold on the crosses, however not 100% fixed on Fleckvieh x, Procross or some Viking red X. Will do the job.
I did have German Fleckvieh X Holstein this year.

Umm. Took 6 weeks before they found some. They were in Belgium holding centre when I selected them.
Wasn’t all it should have been. Someone was plucking dates of birth and calving dates out the sky. The quality of the cattle were fine though just some of them were older and calving later than they should have been.
