Don't feel to hard done by, the rest of us can't put moderators on ignore nor can we delete others posts or lock threads while leaving slander on them and there is very little point in reporting a moderators post as they judge it themselves
so as far as TFF is concerned you are in a privileged position which you make a mockery of from time to time a bit like farage and chums waving flags and singing in the EU parliament which you objected to which was rather funny
We can add to the list partisan management of conflicts and reference to posts already deleted by their authors.

Probably goes to show that the French understand the English mentality better than they do themselves. Part of President De Gaulle's speech on refusing the UK's admission into the EEC sums it up well:-

The “insular” character of the island nation across the Channel had created a politico-economic “structure” which differed “profoundly” from “that of continental Europeans”. The UK “is maritime; it is bound by trade, by its markets, to the most diverse array of countries – and often the most far-flung. It has a lot of industry and commerce but very little agriculture – and its habits and traditions are very different.”
I think perhaps there is a problem with the translation in that quote, or he is typical politician and ignoring facts, he starts out saying we are insular but then cotradicts that by saying trade to the most diverse aray of countries often the nost far flung, which is the opposite of insular.
The first time I went to France in 1979 it was the Frence that was insular, 95% of cars etc were French built, food and drink almost exculsively French, shops almost all native, no macdonalds etc etc, these days things have changed to be fair apart from food, not saying thats a bad thing at all

Read the third line of my signature

On the moderation front if you would like to report any slander, I'm sure the rest of the moderation team will take a look

Oh dear
Perhaps Farage and his mates took the personal view that it was a good time to have a sing song and a bit of flag waving and therefore nothing to do with them being mep's, so all is well then you seem to agree (y)
Ever heard the saying run with the fox and hunt with the hounds

No. I quite often have to hold my nose metaphorically when moderating and I try to be pretty fair unlike a few who delight in holding up the moderator card when in fact I (or Clive or whoever) are just posting their own opinions

I've heard that saying but that has nothing to do with anything if I am posting for myself as I am as entitled to my opinions

Are you seriously suggesting that was the slander that you were referring to earlier? Raelly?

Everyone has a view and this is just De Gaulles view on the British. Britain has long had a rocky relationship with France as we all know. That was then, this is now. I still hold the view that a single European State is not a good thing long term. Tensions will grow inevitably between member states when economics dictate.

I would guess 'insular' would be the correct term for that era. Bearing in mind Britain was hanging on to the remnants of empire whilst still focusing it's attention on maintaining the commonwealth, even the Colonial Office was not merged into the Foreign office until 1966. With the exception of things like the 'Concorde' project, Europe was not a place many UK companies did serious business in those days, mostly still concentrating on commonwealth countries and a lesser extent the USA.

Folks will only put up with so much from clowns, trolls and smart arses.

I think Howard is quite capable of holding his own on here, after all he did start most of the threads in the Brexit section. Just wondered if he was ok .

I noticed he'd not posted for a while, and just put 2 x 2 together. As I said folks just get fed up. Maybe it's something more serious, I hope not. Always liked his no nonsense approach to selling hay / haylage to horsey folks.
