Some rain early in the morning, but this will soon clear, Wintry showers around the coasts of northern Britain, falling as snow or hail to fairly low elevations in Scotland, and accumulating across the mountains. Cool north-westerly winds. Highs 10C/50F

A colder but bright day for many places, showers spreading from the north, affecting eastern coasts, and also moving inland from the
Irish Sea toward north-west England, north Wales and the Midlands - wintry over higher ground, perhaps snow or hail briefly to lower levels at times. Northern Scotland will see frequent snow showers, giving accumulations to quite low levels. Brisk north to north-westerly winds. Highs up to8C/46F, high wind chill making it feeling closer to zero in the wind.
