Nothing with label approval now for control of either, and really nothing that works either. Some pyrethroids have some 'soil activity' and have been known to control them particularly in high water volumes/light rain. Best thing is spray off, break the ley and leave for a min of 6 weeks before re-seeding to break the feeding cycle, so effectively starving the pest to death.

Ok, may have to take the risk on this re-seed. Permanent grass back to permanent grass. Even if I could spray off now that would put reseeding at the beginning of May. How late can you leave a spring grass re-seed?

You could kill off the existing grass and then direct drill the new seeds into it, any pests will feed on the existing roots giving the new seed time to germinate and get away before they are troubled.

April is usually the time for spring re-seeds going into early May, bear in mind when you could begin to dry up June/July & August being the hottest months and hardest on new seedlings.
