It amazes me how many times that as soon as it gets to about 20th of September, it suddenly turns really wet.
It is officially the end of Summer and start of Autumn, today.
Glad I have got over 3/4 of my cereal drilling done here already into fantastic conditions.
Any agronomists telling me it is too early can go feck themselves!

Not sure arable crop production is sustainable if we keep getting weather like this.
We are more or less ready to drill everything.

barley done this last week into near perfect conditions (a week later than plan due to wind and glyphosate)
was planning on starting wheat Monday ( end of summer to satisfy ALH1 requirement!) ……,. that won’t happen now however looking at forecast / what we have had already

Amazing how the rainfall varies so much across a smallish island. Here in the dry East, I think we have only just had 30mm since 18th July. Alot of showers to wet the concrete etc but no real measurable rain. Although I do think we bore the brunt of the worst weather last year.

It’s the most wonderful science isn’t it?
Keeping an eye on the Rain Radar gizmo, it’s not actually raining here atm, but another dollop on the way from your direction.
Got about an hours work to finish a field that I stopped at 8pm last night.
Do i get it in what will be dampish conditions or wait for something better and play the ‘Hinsight’ game?
