After learning of the rim change i tgink this is now unlikely, would you go for a omnibib or a bkt, think more of the soil than roadwork capabilities?

I don’t know enough about those alternatuves to offer anything of value, xm108, axobib and xeobib are all I ha e any experience of the last decade or so

I should of said road work is not a huge part of this tractors roll i would estimate that it does 80% field work, want something that floats grips and last most of all!

OK. Just for reference I had two tractors on 108’s and both did about 7500 hrs before they were worn out, properly bald. A mate of mine said they were really worn out 1000 hrs before I changed them but it’s sometimes handy having a tractor with not much tread on for hedge cutting etc. if you have a choice. One of the tractors has Multibibs on and has clocked another 4000 hrs and it has 35mm of tread left on the rears. The other has BKT’s and it’s clocked 2000 hrs and has 50mm of tread left. The third has clocked 5000 hrs from new and has the original Multibibs on with 32mm of tread left. To my way of thinking ( based on tread wear slowing as depth decreases) the Multibibs are going to last longer than the 108’s but the BKT’s look better value when you consider that you can buy 2 1/2 sets for the price of the Multibibs.
One factor you ought to take into consideration is how long you intend to keep the tractor, for example if you were going for 12000 hrs ( say ) the Multibibs would be getting worn by that time, if you’d stuck the BKT’s on although you’d have bought another set in the mean time you’d be trading in a tractor on fairly new tyres which would add to its value, and cost you less over those hours.

Cheers think we will probably be leaning towards bkt as heard nothing really bad about them for the money!

BKT is a brilliant budget tyre. Loads of tread and good grip but maybe a bit more noisy on the road. I had a set and wasn't at all disappointed.
For a better make, Trelleborg. Wear a lot better than Michelin now I find.

got Trellys Michys & BKT experience
650-65-42 & 600-65-38 Michy Multibibs both seem ok & wearing not to bad.
600-65-38 Trellys TM 800 less wheel slip when ploughing over same sized Michys but front 480s wearing quicker than same sized michys on previous same tractor
650-65-38 BKT cant remember there number but deffo noisier on the road, grip well enuff tho & cheaper than all the rest.
Never had omnibibs or xeobibs so cant comment.
