Exploring the idea of a front mounted seeder, 6m spread.

Small seeds and grass/Sfi mixes.

Combined with 6m rolls to consolidate.

Front linkage on tractor with hydraulic power, electric power or pto.

Boom or no boom?

Seen the bullock tillage one that looks interesting.

Have a small spreader from them for over 10 years and it’s been fine but basic DeLimbe machine. Just used fur slug pellets and a bit of stubble turnips.

Thinking along similar lines. We have a home made small seeds drill with hydraulic driven fan on a power harrow for stewardship plots etc. Thinking of extending the boom to 4m and front mounting with the carrier on the back for cover crops. Simples.....

We’ve just bought one of the bullock T17 6m front mounted and really happy with it. We’ll nearly always plan to use it in front of 6m Cambridge rolls. So far done 110ha of companion cropping berseem clover with it, then as soon as we get some rain got some legume fallow and grass reseeding to do with it to. Very easy to set up, everything on ours is electric and runs off the one 7 pin plug. Couldn’t be happier so far 👍

I knocked this up a couple of weeks ago, again with a Bullock applicator and a old 12m sprayer to work in conjunction with 7.5 straw rake. The only issue I've had is due to the 7.5m wide working width is getting the seed rate and forward speed correct,I cannot tear about like a mad thing!

For grass seed my brother just chopped the coulters off an old MF (Greenland?) pneumatic drill and added a splash plate to every second outlet and blocked off the pipes he didn't use. Because the spacing is relatively narrow you can run it closer to the ground and the seed is not impacted by cross winds. Worked a treat for sowing grass seed.
