Could be that his internal network (possibly the wireless link) is causing the jitter to spike up. Only way is to direct cable test from laptop right at the router.

Samknows data so far. For some reason it's slow taking readings for some metrics.

Good question. I'm not sure whether it is.....the Velop box is running n 192.168.1.1. and then dishing out IPs 192.168.1.10 to 254.
Can you log into the Velop box and see what "WAN" IP address its being given (the one its getting from the Genexis box)? Then you can figure out the IP address of the Genexis box from that. It may be 192.168.0.1 for example

...or you could just try using https://router and see if you can connect to it.

Overhead BT Openreach FTTP?

If there is a a CBT like this on your nearest serving pole then it will be a very cheap and quick install...

Even if there is not the nearest splitter might be closer than you think. It’s only mega costs if they have a ton of fibre to lay or string up.
There’re in the middle of installing fttc in our village but I’m sure there’s something like that on the post outside my house, I’ll take a pic tomorrow and see what you think. I know it’s something to do with the fibre as a collared the contractor when they where fitting it.

Wow, thanks. Handy to know.

Speed is masses for what I need, but still not running full speed by any respect.....nor it is quite as consistent. Speed test on my mobile just showed up as 175 download, 136 upload.

No 4k tv currently but may well by the time the 18mths is up.
If your in the market for a cheap/half decent smart tv, currys pc world have an offer on LG 50” 4K oled smart tv’s £399.
My old plasma died the other week so picked one up and I’ve been well impressed so far, just need to sort the 1-3mb download speed now!

I'm more of a Samsung person.....never got on with LG, but that could be because the only LG I've ever bought was a bottom of the range for £199 or so. I'm sure bottom of range models of most brands are almost badge engineered to a price.

That was something I was going to ask, if I get fttc or fttp do I still need a land line/line rental? Always bugs me having to pay line rental when I don’t even have a phone plugged in!
