Fuel price tracker

Im not sure who you think i am, but i am not that. I am a sole trader that does a little bit with my old tractors to keep them in good working order, the newest being 1991, i also work full time for a contractor. Im not some big fancy corporation trying to screw farmers over, in fact i'm just a little guy. Im not even vat registered so cant claim that back, so the cost of fuel is affecting me just as much as everyone else. Im not here to give political views as this isnt the place. But i suggest you do some homework before making yourself look a moron on a public forum. Enjoy your day :);)
I did apologize further down the thread.. Moron tag accepted..

There's a lot being made of barrel price dropping slightly but tbh barrel price hasn't really been up that high in reality. You've also got to factor in barrel price is in dollars and pound is v weak against the dollar at the mo. Couple in the "other" factors being milked and I wouldn't hold your breath for any decrease in price yet.
i spose weve got to factor in the steel price for all the barrels ;) ;)

Crude oil in 1980 peaked at 140 dollars beand over 100 dollars many times since 2000 I would say a lot of profit taking just stoking inflation , I can't see the sense in the high prices only profit excess.

You're not wrong. Gov.uk is raking in excess VAT and other taxes on every litre sold. 20 percent of £1 is a lot less than 20 per cent of £2 for the same product. The wringing of hands doesn't alter that fact.

I passed a lot of fuel stations yesterday, and the range was 1.94 - 2.02 / litre for white derv.

We'll need red dreckly - and like others, what's in the tank atm was bought last year @ under 50p/l.

Certas cheapest in Cambridge yesterday, first time in months. 2300l at £1.20/L delivered this morning, clearly not selling a lot at that money, but we were empty so no choice...

Looking to organise fuel cards, never bothered before. In Cambridge area, got GULF in the village, Shell, Tesco and BP within 4 miles.

Which cards should I be looking at for best rates/terms?

Any advice appreciated!

Got just 500 litres of Red coming from Tate oil on Friday morning at 117.85 + VAT.
They rang us and re-activated our old 30 day account .
Most of our farm work is done by Share Farm Contractor so this is for use in Telehandler - Classic tractor and I want to be able to order Winter grade for next fill.
We will put some white in the Merlo for distribution usage 😉.

When I was lorry driving I'd have two or three different cards, usually one week I'd be told to use x card the next week it would be y card. The best prices varied week to week and every so often a card would be ditched for a bit because over time they became uncompetitive.

Is there other tax in the fuel prices besides 20% vat?
