Fuel, who is making a short term profit?

So fuel has doubled or even tripled in 2 weeks. Someone is making some serious serious money? Who is it? Can buying groups help or is it the end of them ? May 2020 cost to fill my car £61. Today, £122.

From the guide prices I had on Monday from my buying group and the prices my friends have been quoted on the same day then I would say the buying group is better. Same with roundup aswell.

3 garages local to me and 1 of them was 16p more than the others 2 days ago on derv and they put it up another 4 or 5p yesterday and today.

1 garage cant be buying it that much more expensive than the others! And the all turn over a decent volume.

refiners buy oil and ethanol sell refined fuel

I have a account at our local bp garage and they told me that they don’t know the price of the fuel until it is delivered to them. This was a couple of years ago not sure if it’s changed now.

It’s his business to run as he wants but I would think that most retail outlets selling anything would work on % margins

I’d think this is true… I went for fuel yesterday morning at my local and they were having a delivery at the time snd she said your lucky, once he’s finished unloading im chanting the prices by 11pence a litre
