Furlough Fall out

Depends if those staff still had a job to go to. Do you think employers are still going to have a human do a job when it can be automated for a lower hourly cost? It's also worth bearing in mind that the employer looks at total cost for each hour worked. That £12/hr increases to circa £15/hr once you factor in employers NICs, pension contributions, and 28 days paid holiday per annum.

I honestly and truthfully could not give a fudge. If the McDonalds business model folds because they can't pay their employees £12 an hour it wouldn't bother me a jot. I don't shop there.

Not good if you are Mr Wetherspoon and all your cheap Polish employees have gone back to their previous jobs in the Polish health service. The last years 80% has meant a real bonus to the meagre wages there 😀
They wont be back in a hurry to serve cheap beer and food to ignorant racist louts in a hurry
i think you need to check that last statement,i havnt been in a weatherspoons for a couple of years ,walked by one last week ,full of middle aged ladies and gents eating ,are they all racist louts ?

For example, I cannot, for the life of me, see why any NHS organisation would ever need anyone involved in 'marketing' but believe me such roles exist.

Presumably to counter the irresponsible “University of Facebook” social media commentators, who otherwise cause public health problems through misinformation to the masses. You know the part of thing - anti vaccine, cattle wormer, masks are bad. And public health promotions too - 5 a day fruit and veg; 10,000 steps.

Public Health England are the body responsible for public health at a national level though. What good is a non-medically trained goon sat in an office on twitter in combatting the issues you mention? It's not the job of Wales and West NHS trust to educate pork.

Targetted local campaigns might be necessary at times - our local was warning they were close to capacity - that’s not the job of a surgeon.
