Ok so found myself going as a friend is nominated , not really my thing but I will never get the chance again and quite looking forward to it.
Anyone else going as I’m going to be a massive fish out of water !!
I’m thinking strength in tff numbers and be nice to meet fellow members .

I went once.
It was a brilliant night, was surprised by how many old friends that I met up with.
My one mistake was bothering to book a hotel room. Should have just stayed up all night and got an early train home!

Was there a couple of years ago. Quite an experience & pleased we went. Very well organised & impressive how quickly 1000 dinners were served. Fiona Bruce gave a better speech than the second rate offering from the Ag Minister, Forget her name, the one before Ms Truss.
Best if you don`t have to buy the beers !

Is your friend the Farmer of the Year @spikeislander ? If so, well done. He's clearly at the top of his game.

Mrs Brisel was there as she contributes to FW for her work on telecoms, HS2, landlord & tenant etc. It's great to see the positive side of UK Farming, instead of reading the pessimistic stuff all the time. Excellence should be recognised & celebrated.

No my friend was up for farm adviser of the year but sadly didn’t win.
I have met the overall winner on occasion and he’s a nice chap .
Was a good night

Don’t take it as gospel but I think the firm was Wilson’s that took it?
I was impressed by the mixed farmer winner cows , milking , chickens and they mentioned the 6000+ha contracting over 500 miles as a side note [emoji51]

I used to do a bit of trailer work for him years back, I know we were having a discussion one day on a farm just outside Chester and we reckoned it would be about 75 miles to his furthest customer from there, I know they have travelled further on umbilical work, one of the guys told me they stoped for breakfast in Aberystwyth one morning on the way to a job but I’ve never heard of them traveling 500 miles to a job?

Not a bad achievement for a lad who started out on a 27 acre council holding.

They honestly said 500 miles it made me listen as it’s nearly the length of the country
