Fw latest tractor test

Ok had a look at the latest test in this weeks paper and thought the latest 90 hp test probably quite relevant to me being dairying and run one of same size on my 14 cu wagon but would it not have been better a loader test

I would have thought that as 80 hp tractors tend to be more "in and out of them all day" type machines rather than "10 hour shift without a break" the fact that you could buy 3 Zetors for the price of the Fendt would have counted against it.

As always in FW it is just a reprint of a European article.

Same thing crossed my mind. Fair enough the fendt is probably aimed at veg growers etc but at what point does a tractor costing twice as much as a competitor become too expensive?
Depreciation shouldn't be much of an issue when it only starts at £30k

Couldn't really see the benefit of comparing Fendt vs Zetor given the massive difference in price. Tractors of those size tend to be aimed at livestock farms where reliability, simplicity, practicality and given the state of farming, price (or rather value for money) are most important.

I have a MF 390 on a Keenan 340, that's over 8 ton empty, no bother driving or moving it around as it never leaves the yard.
Took a notion last winter of changing, a local dealer had a lovely fendt 312 and I thought just the job, vario for feed out and a heater that works.
Thankfully I wised up:whistle:

I've a jd 5080m on my shelbourne 15 cube tub feeder, drives it perfect and handles it even when chopping baled silage then come summer time it goes on the tedder and raking and other odd jobs in between mixing, nearly everyone around us seems to have 150hp + on their wagons

Not quite. It is usually a co-production from Reed Business i.e UK, German, Dutch and French journalists together in whatever country suit them best. Bit of both usually. These (tractor) tests are awfully expensive.
I thought the manufacturers just gave them demo tractors to use? Its basically free advertisment been in a magazine isnt it?
