I cannot find the thread discussing CLH / Gamic etc smaller trailers , so I thought I'd post these Gamic trailer photos from today

Look the pic - the drop down sides are only about 8inches at the top of the side... pointless!

Yeah still think what I said might be true. Especially since there seems to be two clips at the front of the trailer for taking the roof on and off.

I could be about to eat a lot of humble pie though.

The idea of the drop down sides is to allow easy access to whatever's in the trailer (like grabbing a lamb), etc. They are very handy for that. The CLH has drop down sides that drop from lower down, but that means they stick out over the wheel arches when they are down. Mike told me a while back that he'd designed his so they fold flush to the sides above the wheel arches, so they don't get in the way when you're leaning in to get a bag of feed (or whatever). Made sense to me, if you are going to use the trailer like that much.(y)

There are a lot of similar trailers about now with a tilting roof i.e. the back of the roof tilts up so you can drive the quad in then fold it back down. Maybe the Gamic trailer would benefit from a similar design?

I agree with above, the folding sides are for access. Also you can take them off along with the roof if just moving the quad about. Much easier to get in and out over the side and less rattles too.

Our little quad trailer gets the sides and little center rear door taken off this time of year to reduce rattling. The noise really does your head in after a while. Also you can tow a snacker or small trailer behind the quad which is inside the trailer (attached through the gap in the tailboard) iykwim.

I suppose I don't use a trailer like that, so don't see the need really... do they do one without the fold down sides? It'd be very rattly and noisey going up and down my farm road.

Gamic will make any size trailer, canopy or box to the style and requirements of the person buying. Was in the yard other week to pick up a new floor for cattle crush. Lots of different styles of trailers in he yard.
