Cocksfoot will tolerate any mowing regime , thanks to its prone habitits not annual meadow grass.
Its not Cocksfoot (because that would tolerate constant tight mowing) either its Common Bent.

my lawn was looking wonderful last year but seems yo be full of patches of this wide leaf grass ? any ideas what it is, where its sud cone from and what i can do about it ?

its took hold since we got the robot which cuts very low
Best bet might be to rake it up so it’s standing tall and let the mower do it’s thing. If it’s the type of grass I think it is it tends to lay flat and smother the nice grasses so use a finger rake to pull it upright twice a week and Chuck some nitrogen on.its took hold since we got the robot which cuts very low
That looks like Couch grass to me, I have it in my lawn too which was freshly reseeded 2 years agomy lawn was looking wonderful last year but seems yo be full of patches of this wide leaf grass ? any ideas what it is, where its sud cone from and what i can do about it ?

im blaming the robot mower - it seems to have turned a good lawn into a poor one in 18 months
