garden hose auto shut off?

Strange one this.

I use a garden hose to fill up my water tank when the borehole gets a bit slow. I don't want to use alkathene because I have to pick the hose up now and again.

Is there a way of fitting a ballcock or some auto shut off to a garden hose connection?

Otherwise whats the easiest way of stepping down from alkathene to a garden hose fitting? hopefully not involving a tap

you can go from garden hose to blue alkathene with normal plastic fittings

One of these will fit on an 1/2" ballcock. Hozelock 2185 on your hosepipe jobs a good one.

For some reason didn't twig 1/2 hose fittings could screw on the ballcock

Is there an inline fitting that steps alkathene to garden hose as well by any chance?
