A friend of mine has a small business making garden sheds, summer houses etc. The price always seems quite a lot but he says if you use quality materials it's surprising how much they cost..... but well worth the extra

We bought one last year for a build , cost £1740 installed 20 foot x 10 foot

I bought one off ebay, I compared the specs and got a really good deal delivered and erected.
Garden room, summer house, potting shed, workshop, they are all basically a shed, but if you have close neighbours perhaps the summer house look is more acceptable

Have you put it up yet?

Yes but not with out a few issues! all created by the builder not anything to do with the shed:mad:

No recent photos as these we taken summer last year. But we got grass now and all looking a lot nicer(y)

Sheds good, but needs a door latch or something to hold it open as the way the finish the trim around the door it does not fully open back so if court by the wind it will rip the hinges off easy.
A few badly aimed nails out of the nail gun and a few that are buried far too deep in the wood for my liking but otherwise sound, Seen far worst sheds on the market IMO
Tin roof is good, I was going to insulate it but never go round to it and was surprised it didn't get mega hot in there in the summer either I guess partly due to the fabric lining?

What Happend to the digger?

Paid a so called builder to dig out old garage base and lay a patio plus shed base.
After many delays he finally started the job and with a couple hours some how rolled the digger in a flat garden:mad: this pic was what i came home to! Hyd oil and diesel leaking out my plan was borrow a small bobcat from chap in village and lift it up but hire firm would let me touch it:confused:

Instead it lay there over 24hours till hire firm rolled up with a 3 ton digger to right it then dragged it out down the side of the house and drive maybe 100ft plus so they could lift it with hiab and take it away:unsure:

It wasnt my name on the hire ticket so not my problem other than it was in my garden. I did offer help but was told to leave it alone:poop:

Gave builder second chance but he made such a balls up i told him to pack up and fudge off.

Notice the shed base is poured in 2 layers:cry: base was 4" out of square. Had more fall one end than other and timber shuttering was warped so over the 16ft length you had a dip of 1 1/2" in the middle and similar the other way. Towards the end he had also ran out of mix so it was bad in every which way you looked at it.

I ended up pouring 2" on top myself after making my own square frame and packing it up so was level according to a cheap laser i bought(y)

In a way the extra 2" was a good thing as it sits lower than patio anyway. Loads of nice top soil and some turf hides it all. And shed fitted perfectly with no packers under its base at all.
