Gatekeeper alternatives ?

It all depends on what you want from the software. If you are just after spray and fertiliser recording farm flo is worth a look. If you want more at the moment it's the bigger companies. Gatekeeper is huge and complex but if you want nvz, waylines etc it is still the go to choice but it is very expensive.

Have you looked at muddy boots greenlight grower. I am trying it at the moment and even though it does not fully meet my needs yet I am quite pleased. Nvz records are on their way. Data entry is much better than cropwalker and it does exchange data with cropwalker.

Lots of people like farm works. I believe pear agri is no longer supported but I may be wrong.

Pear Agri is going strong. Charlie Farrington joined us in the new year, Charlie is from a large arable family farm has worked for AGCO for three years on Fendt and Challenger products, he has plenty of experience in computer software and precision farming.
Charlie and I presented our new web based software developments two weeks ago to a well known group of independent agronomist on the south coast. We plan to release more news next few weeks on the agronomy, crop management and contractor software.

Glad to hear pear still going well. Will be interesting to see how your new software looks. Web based is definitely the way to go. Is it nvz compliant.

NVZ compliance is covered by our PLANET based Nutrient Planner. This is built into our Adviser agronomy software as standard. A linked module for the Fieldman Crop Management software is available. In both programs we have our ‘Traffic Light’ form that uses PLANET to validate and show any incorrect data.

When all the data is validated and correct, Nmax and Nutrient Requirement reports for a single field or all fields can be produce with one click of a button. You can use your own predefined treatment plans to match the field/s requirements.

You have decent foundation based on my quick play with it yesterday however you have a lot to do to make it as comprehensive for larger farm business as GK is, all possible though

talk to me and I will help you maybe ! at TFF we have been seriously considering developing our own cloud based system anther seen=ms to be a lot of demand recently, GK committing commercial suicide this week has certainly added to that need rather dramatically !

Any further down the line with this tff?

We were looking at a partnership with someone that had what I felt could be a very strong alternative, unfortunately such plans had to be put on hold last year for various reasons but I do have an appointment in the not so distant future to see where its all at

anyone not doing this cloud based is barking up the wrong tree completely IMO, I'm desperate to move away from GK - over £1400 a year in support alone !! and the sync is just from the stone age, it has issues on w10, won't work with my accounts system and just seems to be getting no new development at all these days

Was told the other day that a new could based GK is on the cards hence no development on current one. I hope they let it work properly with decent mapping software like omnia and not waste money with their own ridiculous system

Proagrica (the company that gatekeeper use to sell our data ) had a very big stand at agritechinica with a cloud based system that looked to already be popular and widely adopted in Europe - @Chris F may recall the name as it escapes me now

Loads of people in this space, an entire hall of them at the show many with machine manufacture and merchant backing it seemed. All part of the new gold rush for data

Selling the software is not how most of them plan to make their money - proceed with caution imo !

Anyone with an alternatives. running Farmworks but it is blatantly obvious from last 6 months and discussions at Cereals that the Americans think they can support it from the US on there terms (sound familiar to President Trump!) and it isn't working, which is very sad as I rate the program and how it works very highly.

I went over and looked at Gatekeeper and was incredibly impressed and would have changed over there and then untill I saw the price and nearly dropped off my perch. So what alternatives are there out there? or do I battle on with our trans atlantic cousins?

I find Muddy Boots new programme very easy to use and a cheaper alternative to Gate Keeper. There is a mobile app. Great tool for crop management, sprays, and good support service behind it. Key reports recently added which have made a huge difference (cropping report), just waiting on nutrient planning which I’m told is currently being developed.

I agree but i have been told nutrient planning NVZ etc is on its way for 2 years now. I am getting tired of waiting.

After discussions with farmworks in America who then spoke to Trimble Europe / uk we now have a uk based contact for support etc who on the occasion I needed him was really helpful so sticking with Farmworks for now as we now have a decent contact for support. know how to use it and like it and the quote from gatekeeper scared me to death.
