Gatekeeper spec new PC

Farmplan have given me a spec for a new desktop PC. I need to run Gatekeeper with mapping. My current W7 model is 6 years old & slowing down badly. Yield maps take ages to load & anything with a big amount of data is hardly worth bothering with now. Most of my other documents are on the cloud, so there isn't much space taken up on the hard drive.

Is their minimum spec enough? I'd like the computer to last another 5 years so will over engineer it anyway. For those of you with mapping software, is there anything you can recommend?

Does the Gatekeeper software make use of the multi threading and multi core capabilities of an i7 chip? I suspect not...

Probably a higher end 7th gen i5 would give greater performance.

For future proofing..

16gb ram.
250gb SSD
Win 10 Pro 64bit
500gb HDD for data (but set up decent backup and cloud storage)

Middle of the range dedicated gfx card and dual monitors 24" or more. - can do this at a later date.

Add extra ram & SSD to something like this https://www.palicomp.co.uk/intel-i5-titanium-kab3-review

TBH I use W10 for work and absolutely hate it. I am sure it’s me but it always wants to up date itself which takes a Loooooong time. Complete PITA IMO.

W10 updates should not take long and generally dont with faster internet and SSD drives.

I cant see you would need any graphics card for farmplan, an on board igpu would deal with it easily.

SSD will sort any loading issues.

i5 cpus fine just buy a quad core one if they have managed to multithread the software.

Faster internet connections would help.
