Come on now, this is how JD sales are meant to go:
"Is it green? Does it have yellow wheels? Sold!"

Get a Polaris Ranger quote as it was £10k cheaper than the JD when we priced them. 900 diesel is excellent on fuel and tows and carries the most on the market at the time.
How long have you had it? As much as I want a new UTV I cannot stomach spending £24800 ( just checked the quote ) on one. A Polaris looks the part and the spec seems very good, makes me wonder where the savings have been made?

Used Polaris since 2011. Never had any major issues on any machine. Friend has a JD and ours can out tow it easily. They literally don’t use any fuel as we never seem to have to fill it up. Travelled around trip of 18 miles, spread pellets on 250ac. Still had 3/4 of a tank.
We put a 250l sprayer in the back with 3m or 6m booms and it’s carries it with ease.

I appreciate the cab isn’t as refined as a JD but £10,000 saving I don’t care. I do not see why anybody would even consider a JD Gator to be honest unless it was the same price as a ranger.

Try a Polaris, @paul&mandy has a new gator and it’s falling apart to say the least.
He may know a more up to date price for the Polaris but a full spec was around £19k before VAT 12 months ago.
Had a quote for gator full spec in May and it was just nd I mean just under 20k
Finding a dealer with one in stock seems to be difficult atm

Best quote I’ve had ( this month)
Polaris ranger diesel, full cab and heater £19k plus vat
Corvus terrain full cab heater , bull bar , opening front screen and tfm alloy canopy
£19250 plus vat
Our Polaris dealer took three attempts to return my call, then said there’s no stock until next year but offered a demo and 2 yrs interest free
Corvus had demo here then have new machine arriving tomorrow price inc on the road cost
It’s a big spend for a small farm but I gave the demonstrator some pain , tried my best in some really wet steep pennine hill land and it did ok for me
They are fairly new out and I suppose constantly improving
But with two yrs warranty and a good dealer I’ve give it a chance

Its a classic case of up selling when Honda trikes came out they where around £350.00 , they ultimately became big red shaft drive electric start etc £1500.00 then quads , then 4x4 quad then 500cc 4x4 quad then quad with power steering then gators , then gator with cab then with cab and diesel , then alloy wheels etc etc.
They do the same job in accessing land but the expectations are much higher, granted allot of years have passed buy since the inception of an ATV but also so have the expectations of what they are.

They look good and as said visibility is better, our canopy won’t be ready until new year, I may have a word with the chap tomorrow when he delivers the machine
They are it's always on cause it doesn't affect your visibility. The gator had a solid one on and I took it off in summer for better visibility then it wasn't on when I wanted to put a sheep in back

Canopy is near £1000 just so you know.
Dealers been good then, we asked for an orange one , demo was green, as on these dank days the green was all but invisible on the roads
Opening front screen was extra as is front bull bar .
Only orange machine the importers had had the extras on
Dealer stuck with the 19250 inc the canopy
I’ve no allegiance to any make or dealerships
But if they are helpful and not pushy then they will get our business
In this case we dealt with paxtons at Bentham, they are a good hour away , we’ve had a quad off them years ago but that’s all
Servicing was one thing I asked about and was told they will come out and do it on farm
Kawasaki dealer as Polaris both said there’s a wait for new machines

There’s a wait on all machines, 4-6 months on quads anyway
