Generator installed capacity

Long time lurker. First time posting.

I received the form for the first time on Friday.
I rang them up. Seemingly there was a mixup at the printers & the originals were not sent out.
She advised I didn't have to complete it until November.
Now whether that was just for me as I had phoned or for all I don't know.
She seemed pretty relaxed & said they had a lot of calls & about the complexity of it & said just fill it in as best I could or ring again if I needed help with it.

We didn't get the original letter either just the reminder. They're asking for our accounts too, they won't be getting them. They were happy enough to pluck a figure out of thin air a couple of years ago so they can be happy with that again. Our turbine is part of the farm business, I'm not filling their form in as I have no way of knowing on what basis they've made their decision or whether they've assessed correctly. Cheeky barstewards.

The peak outputs of the E-3120 vary hugely, our fleet ranges from 55kW to 80kW, all depends on the aerodynamics of the blades. The early flat roots tend to peak at 70-80kW, the later circular roots 65-70kW. I think Endurance deliberately detuned the circular roots to place less stress on the turbine chassis and shaft. Many E-3120s with 80kW outputs suffer from high generator temperatures, so bearings fail after a few years.

As already said by others the revaluation asks for the generator installed capacity. It also goes into detail of annual energy production, so that should reflect the true turbine performance.

This is what is so rediculous about this mythical figure. Its just salesman hype output based on unrealistic windspeeds. Be interesting to get real facts of users of annual output divided by total hours per year. I doubt any achieve 40kw never mind 80kw. Bearing in mind under 50kw should be microgeneration and not applicable to rates assessment then I think actual figures should be declared rather than a mythical nameplate figure.

Unfortunately salesman ship, OFGEM, and MCS are seldom good bed fellows!

Under microgeneration the rated power output is that at 11m/s if I recall correctly, it certainly is not the average output. The E-3120 has too large a rotor to fall under MCS, it was alway ROO-FiT.

All turbines falling under ROO-FiT are rated based on the maximum sustainable output, this was declared by EWP as 80kW.

In the past the VOA have applied a standard load factor of 20% in the summer and 30% in the winter, this then gives the annual generation (or an average of 20kW). They apply a bunch of other seemingly obscure factors to calculate the RV, example below.

We have two 3-120s here, on a rental basis so they don't actually belong to me.
I was always led to believe they were 55kw machines but I do know they are listed as 80kw for the connection to the grid. There is a plate in the cabin with a few different power ratings. Rated, nominal, peak maybe, can't remember exactly.
That said I have been in the cabin more than a few times with the meter running at about 80-85kwh with bursts in to the 90kwhs. Think the peak listed in the meter on one of them used to be 107,
