Buy a maintenance / trickle charger and stick it on it. It'll pay for itself with longer battery life alone.
Not simple, Nearest socket is 30 m away across a yard. The genny is next to the meter cabin. Connections are 160 amp. Would need the sparkey to put a 13 amp supply in. Not a major problem but never got round to it

That's not so good from that angle. Stillagood shed where is the water coming from
From an outside yard, the drains are all wrong, currently have loads of water wash through into this section then the silage clamp, same in 2 of the other sheds, going to apply for concrete and drainage this year under stewardship as currently the water mixes with dung/slurry and then goes somewhere it shouldn't which is why I'm trying my best not to use the sheds affected (don't want ea after me!)

Our supply is off for 6 weeks due to moving line and posts away from a river.
We have been supplied with an Atlas Copco 100kva generator which is connected just after the transformer.
Split phase from a 3 phase genny, been looking at the display on it phase 1 92amps, phase 2 0amps and phase 3 76amps. This is the farm and 10 houses.
26000 hours on the genny, what would be considered high hours for a genny?

What would you consider were high hours if it was a tractor engine?

Split phase just uses 2 phases, hence the display.

N Powergrid had us on a genny for a couple of weeks when they were rebuilding the lines
Genny dies about 7pm on a saturday night. Had a replacement running before midnight

One careful owner since new ,,😁.
Not one of those triggers broom jobs is it ?
We commissioned it on 18 Feb 2011 and it has been running pretty much all the time since, apart from services etc. Every 28,000 hrs it has new pistons & heads, new conrod bearings. Every 56,000 hours it has a complete stripdown and new main bearings, camshaft bearings etc.. Block, crankshaft, camshaft etc are all original. As I write, it is now at 110727 hours.
We change oil every 1350 hours (determined by oil analysis) and check tappets and change spark plugs every other oil change.

Do you still find the methane rots the heads n pistons, what about the generator head bearings & brushes, and do you use a methane specific oil in the sump ? Just wondering...
