Knock on the door and ask them politely to move it. Have a quote ready as well with temporary roadway, digger, dumper hire, 8 wheel tipper etc, new fence, taking it across there lawn so you can give them that option. Make it clear it's fly tipping too and you would get the police involved.

A bit hard to tell from the pictures but is it obvious where it is from, has it been chucked over the fence or has someone been in with a vehicle?
It's not material from your trees overhanging their property?

If you know its them and are confident they're in the wrong chuck it back.

You will get hand gates into your wood next to make it easier for them to dump their garden rubbish.
Yes true and then they’ll move the fence as it’s obviously unused land and nobody will mind if I extend my garden been there got the tee shirt do not give an inch cause they as sure as hell is hot take a mile

As much as they shouldn’t of dumped it your side and it’s very disappointing but on the other hand, you admitted it’s not used and just think of the points you could get for environmental habit.
hedgehogs, insects etc etc.

If its your hedge they have cut back overhanging their garden , then they have followed the law as they are allowed to trim it back but have to return the wood/trimmings, as that still belong to you.

It's definitely from that house, there's about 12 houses and none of the others have thrown anything over, it lines their boundary from one end to the other about 6ft wide and 4ft high

Funnily enough I was walking the boundary as I was thinking of moving the fence back to the boundary so that the cattle can graze amongst the trees and keep it tidy

It's not - there is a post and wire fence, the garden is about 2 acres, from the look of it they had a big clear up in the spring and threw the whole lot our side, they have a patch of bare ground for about 20ft just their side of the fence, would have been far easier to put the waste up against the fence their side rather than lift it over the fence

Is the fence just two strands of electric? Wouldn't dare let our cows in there, would have nightmares of them going straight through the fence and grazing the lawn.

Thought I’d have a walk through a spinney we own which backs on to some very expensive houses, its fenced off for our cattle so don't really go in there very often, kindly neighbour obviously thought our trees needed some compost, plan to have a word tomorrow and give them two weeks to clear it, cant get in with a machine to lift it back over unless i hired a mini digger, can I report them to anyone if they refuse

the 2 strands in the 2nd pic i take it is the boundary and their garden is to the left with the evergreens in it some of which they trimmed and threw over

if so give them a few hours to remove it then if not throw it as far into their garden as possible

Property in question

We have a local ‘jobbing Gardner type’ in this village. For years, he’s pruned holiday cottage garden shrubs - and decorated the local verges.
Last year we caught him unloading his trailer on our verges. He took off like the proverbial, trailer half empty bouncing along. He didn’t return to his (rented) property that evening in daylight, but @ 7.30 the next morning, the silage grab delivered his fly tipped branches behind his car, in his driveway.
Strangely, we never heard a word.
The antics of the ‘local farmer’ who was seen returning to sender, went around the village for weeks. 😂

It’s fly tipping. It’s illegal, and even if a third party did the deed, the house owner is responsible and can be fined.

There you go then, knock on the door, tell them what they did was illegal and ask what they are going to do about it.
Their response will determine the next step.
