@Farmer Roy ,@Blaithin ,@cows sh#t me to tears ,@Kiwi Pete if you have 20 mins then have a look at the Saturday summary video by Joe barstewardi on the Weatherbell website.

This week he concentrates on Aus and North American weather and the interrelationships.

Question. Does it get to a point that it just doesn't feel colder? Meaning, ok its fàrking cold at say -20, but does -45 feel any colder??.
A bit like from +37 to +47 doesnt feel significantly different here.

Oh and whilst your having your -47, it will be 42 here. Not quite as bad as the near 100°c difference of last year.

If there’s no wind and you’re bundled up then anything after -25 can feel fairly similar. If you don’t take a big breath.

If it’s the windchill bringing it down you can feel it. It cuts right through you. The colder the chill, the more clothes don’t work so well.

Will you stock live outside through the storm too? @Blaithin
Yes. They don’t come inside.

It’s not really a storm. There’s snow coming through on the front (and they keep adding cm to the forecast), but once the cold hits it’ll just be cold and windy. When it’s that cold you don’t usually see large snowfall, needs to warm up first.
