No, i dont think you can teach me anything about hunger given i have farmed thousands of acres with many different landlords.

You can’t moan that there aren’t tenancies available, if you’re not willing to move to find them. I even considered a hill farm in Scotland once. I didn’t go any further than ‘considering’, but moving North of the border certainly didn’t put me off, any more than moving West across a different border.

Aye, but you'd have been moving to a better country. @glasshouse would need to trade down.

You have the wrong end of the stick again.
I dont want another tenancy, been there, done many, got far too many tee shirts.
My comments merely pointed out that the council type tenancies do not exist in scotland thanks to thatcher, and young english wannabe farmers are lucky to have that opportunity.

I went to a vewing day twenty yr ago for 1200 ac in Norfolk, the earl of Leicester shook hands with everyone and asked where they were from.
He said he knew my factor in scotland who knew about our visit before we were halfway home .
We didnt offer for the place, and the guy who got it went bust 5 yr later.
Tell us more, what sort of money was the land and how good was it ? Norfolk would be a nice place to farm weather wise. Nice flat and quiet. As long as it wasnt making stupid money which i suppose it was !!!

The land was in pretty poor shape, house was big and not too bad, hadnt been lived in recently
Buildings were poor, mo fences
It made over £100/ac i believe
The unlucky winner went bust about 06 as he had no single farm payment as he didnt have thr ground in the reference years.
