Getting concerned mk11

I thought it was the other way round - when it’s strong and powerful (straight) it sets the storms off because the temperature contrast is greatest, when it slows down and buckles it allows blocking patterns to develop meaning a greater chance of high pressure to develop??

That's not my understanding of how they work but I'm happy to be corrected if wrong. Look at the kinked stream & then compare that with weather fronts & low pressure systems.

Watch the jet stream if you want a rough idea of whether it will be settled or unsettled. When the stream goes north of the British Isles, the weather will be dry. When it's over us it will be unsettled. When there's a big kink in it, there's a storm spinning up.

so am I right in saying that it looks like it is moving around 10-12th march? similar to 2018?

That's at the end of the forecast so I can't see whether it's temporary or something more settled.

It never really dried up here until the middle of April in 2018. 6" of rain in March 2018

Plan on doing your work 9th to 18th March as going to be a dry settled period as wife booked a holiday, with a return to rainy shite when we get home.

Ha. My holiday is booked 28th march until good Friday. Fully expect to land to find all are drilled up except me, and my father chastising me for even considering a day away from the farm.

Think the crappest bit at the moment is I have to drive past my sodden fields four times a day, only to return to my house and yard that nature is trying it's best to destroy!
