Getting concerned

1/3 of 1st wheat drilled. Ok and not too much worked up but not drilled. A main cultivations tractor still in pieces having a new transmission fitted and a power harrow gearbox being rebuilt so given the downtime we’re not badly off yet. At least the 30mm rain in the last 2 days will soften up the barley seedbeds that had baked out so we can get them sown next week.
I’ll come and give you a hand with this now I have finished my own. Just so you can say you still do some No-till.

I did half the cereals with it and the other half like this;

The Plough/ Combi system used 9 tanks of fuel, the DD version just over 1 (but less than 1.25).

PS: Either/both drills available if you have given up on No-TIL and both doing 50 acres a day.

I certainly will.
But can honestly say that I wouldn’t bet either system is going to be be the best right now. Obviously there is a huge financial saving in favour of the GD. But it will come down to the weather as to which system will do best In the end, as it always will.
Conditions for the GD were perfect this Autumn up to now.
When ELMS gets going and we actually get paid for Direct Drilling, that will also enter the equation too.

That putting your faith in the new drill?
New drill has now got acres under its belt
conditions just right now imo
Some ground is getting a disc tine through it first though. And some getting a plough
724 pulls 8m just fine apart from cultivated ground uphill full tank damp conditions etc. Have another 600 kg wheel weights and 600kg heavier front weight in reserve though.
Generally pleased so far but its Achilles heel is weed or grass
